MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL June 21,2005 1. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Hosterman at 7:00 p.m. Ms. McGovem led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. Ms. McGovern welcomed Mr. Thorne to his first meeting as Councilmember. She noted that she and Mr. Thorne attended the swearing-in ceremony on June 20 for new Fire Chief William Cody. She mentioned today was the first day of summer and invited the youth in the community to visit the new BMX Park located on Stanley Boulevard. 2. ROLL CALL City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers present were Steve Brozosky, Cindy McGovern, Matt Sullivan, and Mayor Hosterman. Staff members present were: Nelson Fialho, City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Steven Bocian, Deputy City Manager; Jerry Iserson, Director of Planning and Community Development; Jim Wolfe, Director of Parks and Community Services; William Cody, Fire Chief; Jacqui Diaz, Assistant to the City Manager; Sue Rossi, Director of Finance; Julie Farnsworth, Director of Library Services; Rob Wilson, Director of Public Works; Pamela Ott, Economic Development Manager; Janice Stern, Principal Planner; and Phil Grubstick, Assistant Director Public Works/City Engineer. 3. SPECIAL ITEM 3~a Adopt a resolution acceptinq the Certificate of Election results of the June 7~ 2005 Special Municipal Election. (SR 05:177) Dawn Abrahamson, City Clerk, presented the staff report. It was moved by Mr. Brozoaky, seconded by Ms. McGovern, to adopt Resolution 05-043, a resolution canvassing the election returns and declaring the results of the June 7, 2005 Special Municipal Election.
