MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL January 18,2005 6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION Conference (status update) with legal counsel concerning claims of the FERMA Corporation - Callippe Presen/e Golf Course. 1, CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Vice Mayor Brozoksy at 7:12 p.m. Mr. Brozosky led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He congratulated the Alameda County Fair for receiving 19 first place awards. These awards were granted by the Western Fairs Association. He reminded everyone of several new laws that went into effect January 1,2005 with respect to the California Vehicle Code. 2. ROLL CALL City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers present were Steve Brozosky, Cindy McGovern, and Matt Sullivan. Staff members present were: Nelson Fialho, City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Steven Bocian, Deputy City Manager; Jerry Iserson, Director of Planning and Community Development; Rob Wilson, Director of Public Works; Sue Rossi, Director of Finance; and Jacqui Diaz, Assistant to the City Manager. Mayor Hosterman was absent and excused. 3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Sullivan requested that agenda item 6d, PAP-73, Appellants: Karl and Brenda Sauter (PCUP-129), Marl Kennard, be continued to February 1,2005. Mr. Roush noted that there is a certain time frame in which the Council is required to hear the appeal for PAP-73. Staff has spoken with the appellant and the applicant and both are agreeable to the two-week continuance. In order for Council to overturn the decision of the Planning Commission, it will take three votes of the Council to uphold the appeal, thereby denying the application.
