MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />May 18, 2004 <br /> <br />6:00 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> Conference with legal counsel regarding pending litigation (Signature Properties, <br />et al. v. Pleasanton Unified School District et al.) <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico <br />at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Hosterman led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She <br />reminded the public about the partnership that the City of Pleasanton has formed with <br />Pleasanton Garbage Service for its recycling and food scrap programs. Recyclable <br />materials are to be placed in blue bags, which are available at City Hall or any Fire <br />Station. Food scraps are to be placed in a separate bucket and placed in the regular waste <br />container. She congratulated Councilmember Campbell and his civics class for its <br />success in Washington D.C. at the "We the People" competition. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, Jennifer <br />Hosterman, and Mayor Tom Pico. Staff members present were: Deborah McKeehan, <br />City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Steven Bocian, Deputy City Manager; <br />Brian Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; Rob Wilson, Director of <br />Public Works; Stewart Gary, Fire Chief; Jeff Knowles, Deputy Director/Transportation; <br />and Steve Cusenza, Manager of Utilities. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Ms. McKeehan noted the addition of item 4n, a commendation for Brian Blank. <br />She noted that item 4o, a resolution to authorize a used oil recycling block grant <br />application, needed to be added to the Consent Calendar by a four-fifths vote of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 1 05/18/04 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
