MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />January 27, 2004 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The special meeting of the City Council was called to order by Vice Mayor Kay <br />Ayala at 9:08 p.m. <br /> <br />2. ROLLCALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, and Jennifer <br />Hosterman. Staffmembers present were: Deborah McKeehan, City Manager; Michael <br />Roush, City Attorney; Dawn Abrahamson, City Clerk; Nelson Fialho, Deputy City <br />Manager; and Mcr/beth Linhart, Human Resources Manager. <br /> <br />Mayor Tom Pico was absent and excused. <br /> <br />3. MEETINGS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />ACTION ITEMS AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COUNCIL <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION <br /> <br /> Ms. McKeehan reviewed the four actions that staffwas proposing that council <br />review and discuss related to the workers' compensation program. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala suggested that Council consider recommendations three and four first <br />as outlined in the staffreport. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell noted that Conncilmember Hosterman wanted more time to review <br />SB x43 and AB x41. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala said that is why she suggested considering recommendations three and <br />four, as they did not address the proposed bills. <br /> It was moved by Mr. Brozosky, seconded by Mr. Campbell, to take <br />action to support staff's recommendations to communicate with legislators and the <br />Governor to support additional Workers' Compensation reforms for public <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council I 01/27/04 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
