MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />January 21, 2003 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:04 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brozosky led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He indicated Ms. <br />Hosterman and he had gone to Saeramento a few weeks ago and participated in a League of <br />California Cities conference. It was an opportunity to interact with mayors and councilmembers <br />from all over California and was a very informative event. He noted how well the "Community <br />of Character" ideals work in Pleasanton. He was surprised at the number of cities that have <br />police officers attending their meetings for crowd control. He thanked the community and the <br />Mayor for reminding people at each meeting of the elements. He announced the Second Annual <br />Poetry and Arts Festival on March 29, 2003. He noted registration for the event is due on <br />February 1 for many of the categories. There are many workshops available for adults and <br />youth. He urged people to participate in the event and gave the website for the Pleasanton <br />Cultural Arts Council. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Couneilmembers <br />present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, Jennifer Hosterman, and Mayor Tom <br />Pico. Staff members present were: Deborah McKeehan, City Manager; Michael Roush, City <br />Attorney; Brian Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; Wayne Rasmussen, <br />PrinCipal Planner; Robert Wilson, Director of Public Works; and James W. Wolfe, Director of <br />Parks and Community Services. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Ms. McKeehan indicated a matter arose after the agenda had been posted and required <br />action before the next regular meeting.
