MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />August 6, 2002 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br /> The special meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:00 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She congratulated <br />Councilmember Campbell on his engagement to Jennifer and wished him all the best. She then <br />announced that she would not be running for reelection. She extended her thanks to City staff <br />and said they were like a second family for many years. She especially thanked her husband, <br />Carl, who has been her most avid supporter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala pointed out that tomorrow was "First Wednesday" and invited everyone to <br />attend the downtown event. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers <br />present were Kay Ayala, Matt Campbell, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, and Mayor Tom <br />Pico. Staffmembers present were: Deborah McKeehan, City Manager; Michael Roush, City <br />Attorney; Brian Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; and Phil Grubstick, <br />Interim Director of Public Works. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Ms. McKeehan pointed out there were two addendums to the agenda. One added Item 4i, <br />Agreement with Alameda County regarding the Vineyard Avenue Corridor; and the other added <br />a closed session to discuss labor relations. She announced that Billie Dancy, Director of Library <br />Services would be retiring in December. She has been a tremendous asset to the City and played <br />a major role in creating a Pleasanton's municipal library.
