MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />May21,2002 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:08 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Dennis led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She welcomed the <br />new commissioners, retiring commissioners, and members of the public. This is a meeting when <br />public participation is celebrated. She noted the passing of Birdie Meier-Bianchi, who was <br />active in the community for many years. She did a lot of outreach to less fortunate citizens in the <br />community. She never hesitated to make her opinions known to Council. Ms. Dennis dedicated <br />the City Council meeting to Ms. Bianchi. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers <br />present were Kay Ayala, Matt Campbell, Becky Dennis, and Mayor Tom Pico. Staff members <br />present were: Deborah McKeehan, City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Brian Swift, <br />Director of Planning and Community Development; and Randall A. Lum, Director of Public <br />Works. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sharrell Michelotti was absent and excused. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Item 4p was moved to Item 6c for discussion under Public Hearings and Other Matters. <br /> Item 6d had been added by addendum, Next Steps for the Bemal Property task Force <br />Recommendations on the Bernal Property. <br /> <br /> After some discussion, Mayor Pico indicated the Public Hearing items would be <br />addressed in reverse order, i.e. 6d, 6c, 6b, and 6a. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 1 05/21/02 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
