MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLEASANTON CITY CONCIL January 23, 2001 6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION The City Council met in closed session to confer with legal counsel regarding potential litigation concerning groundwater rights and related issues. No action was reported out. 1. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:10 p.m. Councilmember Matt Campbell led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He announced that the Foothill High School Civics Team would be competing in the state championship in Sacramento on February 8, 2001 and wished them luck. He congratulated members of the Fifth Grade on their graduation from the DARE Program. 2. ROLL CALL City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Matt Campbell, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti and Mayor Tom Pico. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta McKeehan, City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Nelson Fialho, Deputy City Manager; Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works; Scott Baker, Assistant Director of Public Works/Operations; Brian Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; Captain Mike Frasier, Police Department; and James W. Wolfe, Director of Parks and Community Services. 3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Ms. McKeehan reminded Council of the addenda which added item 4k, adoption of a resolution supporting the Pleasanton Unified School District's Character Education Program, and item 41, adoption ora resolution to reduce use of electricity for City Pleasanton City Council 1 01/23/01 Minutes
