MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP <br />AUGUST 101 2000 <br /> <br /> The City Council Workshop was called to order by Mayor Tarver at 7:05 p,m. on <br />August 10, 2000 in the City Council Chambers. <br /> <br /> Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, <br />Tom Pico and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were Deborah Acosta, City <br />Manager and Brian Swift, Director of planning and Community Development. <br /> <br /> Brian Swift presented an update. Hearings have been held with the following <br />commissions: Economic Vitality, Parks and Recreation, Housing and Planning. He <br />reported on the recommendations made li'om each of the commissions. He outlined the <br />timeline for upcoming City Council meetings. The August 15th agenda would have time <br />on the agenda for an update from Greenbriar and would also have time available for <br />public testimony but no action is scheduled to be taken at the August 15m meeting. The <br />August 21st special City Council meeting anticipates Cotmcil taking final action to <br />possibly approve the Specific Plan and to introduce a number of ordinances. The August <br />28th City Council meeting would have the second reading of the ordinances introduced at <br />the August 21st City Council meeting. <br /> <br /> Patrick Costanzo, Jr. Greenbriar Homes, explained to those present the changes <br />made in the plans for the San Francisco Bernal Avenue Property. <br /> <br /> Carol Meyer, Greenbriar Homes, made a presentation on the update for the <br />aparunent complex area. <br /> <br /> Dan Rosenbaum, representing South Bay Development Company, presented <br />updated reports on the corrm~emial development plans lbr the property. <br /> <br /> Updated reports were made on the 4,000 and 5,000 square foot lot units, to be <br />built by Kaulinan and Broad Builders. <br /> <br /> J. David Dacus, representing William Hezmalhalch Architects, presented updates <br />on the 6,000 square foot lot unks planned for the property <br /> <br /> Donald Ruthroff and Chip Pierson, representing Dahlin Group Architects, <br />presented updates on the units for the 12,000 square foot lots. <br /> <br /> Mike Piozzoli, 975 Via Del Cielo, stated his support of the proposed plan <br />presented by Greenbriar for the Bernal property.
