MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> <br /> May 24, 1971 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FLAG <br /> <br />Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br />order at 8:00 P.M. and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> <br />City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br />were present. Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Man- <br />ager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, and Mr. Campbell, Director of Public <br />Works, were present. Mr. Aiello, Acting Director of Planning, was <br />absent. <br /> <br />AGENDA AbrE. NDMENTS <br /> <br />There were no amendments to the agenda. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman <br />Pearson that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be <br />app rove d: <br /> <br /> a. Waive the reading of Ordinance No. 631, regarding rezoning No. <br /> 71-2, Edward Schlies. <br /> <br /> b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 631. <br /> <br /> c. Adopt Resolution No. 71-113, accepting two grant deeds from <br /> Russell G. and LaRue Jones for right-of-way and public service. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br />NOES: None Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> <br />There were no matters continued for decision. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> <br />Further discussion with the Community Concerns Committee Re: Youth <br />Report <br /> <br />Mr. Walt Wood, Mr. Ed Kinney, Mr. Dave Sheppard and Mr. Bristol, Comm- <br />unity Concerns Committee members, gave a detailed presentation on the <br />proposed formation of a Youth Council. <br /> <br /> <br />
