MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL Pleasanton, California May 24, 1971 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FLAG Mayor Robert Reid called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M. and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid were present. Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Man- ager, Mr. Hirst, City Attorney, and Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, were present. Mr. Aiello, Acting Director of Planning, was absent. AGENDA AbrE. NDMENTS There were no amendments to the agenda. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be app rove d: a. Waive the reading of Ordinance No. 631, regarding rezoning No. 71-2, Edward Schlies. b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 631. c. Adopt Resolution No. 71-113, accepting two grant deeds from Russell G. and LaRue Jones for right-of-way and public service. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and NOES: None Mayor Reid ABSENT: None PUBLIC HEARINGS There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION There were no matters continued for decision. SPECIAL REPORTS Further discussion with the Community Concerns Committee Re: Youth Report Mr. Walt Wood, Mr. Ed Kinney, Mr. Dave Sheppard and Mr. Bristol, Comm- unity Concerns Committee members, gave a detailed presentation on the proposed formation of a Youth Council.
