MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> April 22, 1974 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Floyd Mori called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br />order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Due to the absence of Deputy City Clerk, Doris George, Patti Flowers <br />called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, <br />Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and Mayor Mori, were present. <br />Mr. Edgar, City Manager, Mr. Scheidig, City Attorney, Mr. Bowling,.Dir- <br />ector of Housing and Community Development, Mr. Sooby, Director of <br />Engineering Services, Mr. Eaton, Director of Public Works Field Services, <br />Mr. Miller and Mr. Walker, Assistants to the City Manager, were present. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION TO BALLISTIC SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS <br /> Councilman K~'nney, on behalf of the City Council, presented plaques <br />to Mr. Harry Miller, Coach of the Under 12 Division and to Jay Clifton, <br />Coach of the Under 10 Division, in recognition of winning the State Cup <br />Championships in their divisions. Mr. Miller and Mr.~ Clifton introduced <br />the team members and assistant coaches and accepted the awards on their <br />behalf. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Edgar requested that item 4e be included on the Consent Calendar <br />to commemorate May 1, 1974 as Law Day. He also requested that item 6a - <br />Happy Valley Water Line, be continued until May 13, 1974. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, <br />that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved: <br /> <br />a. Approval of City Council Minutes for April 8, 1974. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 74-60, commending Pleasanton Junior Women's <br /> Club for their outstanding contributions to citizens of all ages in <br /> this community and proclaim week of May 13th as Junior Women's Club <br /> Week. <br /> <br />c. Adoption of Resolution No. 74-61, approving Progress Payment No, 8, <br /> tO East Bay Excavating Co., Inc., for work performed on Hopyard Road <br /> Widening Project, Project #73-1, and acceptance of work performed. <br /> <br />d. Adoption of Resolution No. 74-62, approving Progress Payment No. 3, <br /> to McGuire and Hester, for work completed on the Street Improvements <br /> and Signal, Ray, First and Vineyard, Project No. 73-3, and authori- <br /> zation to file Notice of Completion. <br /> <br />e. Approval of motion declaring May 1, 1974, Law Day. <br /> <br />The roll call vote, was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen H&rlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman <br /> Philcox, and Mayor Meri. <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> ' T~e~ w'ere no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Report, Re: Happy Valley Water Line <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that this matter would be continued, to be considered <br />at the City Council Meeting of May 13, 1974. <br /> <br /> <br />
