MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL July 24, 1979 CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mercer, and Mayor Brandes were present. Council- member Wood was absent. Mr. Brown, City Manager, Mr. Walker, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities, M~. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, and Mrs. Bengtson, Director of Recreation and Human Resources, were present. AGENDAAMENDMENTS Mr. Brown requested that item 4e - Rejection of Bids Re: Veterans Building HCD Improvement Project, be moved to item 12f, for discussion. Mr. Brown advised there would be an Executive Session at the conclusion of this meeting to discuss pending litigation. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 6-26-79 and 7-10-79. b. Adoption of Ordinance No~ 893, establishing speed limits on certain streets in the City of Pleasanton. c. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-115, approval of Plans and Specifications and Authorization to Call for Bids for the Overlay of Vineyard Avenue, Project No. 79-6. d. Adoption of Resolution No. 79-116, amending Resolution No. 76-79, the basic Traffic Resolution, establishing St. Mary Street and Rose Avenue from Main Street to Pleasanton Avenue as Through Streets and designating the intersection of Peters Avenue and Division Street as a Stop Intersection stopping traffic on Division Street. e.Rejection of Bids Re: Veterans Building HCD Improvement Project - moved to item 12f on the agenda. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Butler, Kephart, Mercer, and Mayor Brandes NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Wood Councilmember Mercer abstained from voting on approval of the City Council Minutes for July 10, 1979, due to his absence from that meeting.
