MINUTES of THE MEETING of THE CITY COUNCIL May 5, 1980 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:30 P.M., at the City Hall Conference Room. ROLL CALL The roll call is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Mercer were present Mr Walker, City Manager, was present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Walker requested that an item be added to the agenda to discuss the replace- ment process for the vacancy on the Park and Recreation Commission created by the resignation of Kathy O'Brien. INTERVIEWS FOR COM/~ISSIONERS Plannin~ Commission Council interviewed the following candidates for consideration for the two vacancies on the Planning Commission: John F. Dolan Bill Jamieson V. Sheldon Jones Richard W. Knight Larry M. Lindsey After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that Resolution No. 80-112, reappointing Bill Jamteson as a member of the Planning Commission for a term of four years, said term expiring May 5, 1984, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: None It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, that Larry Lindsey be appointed as a member of the Planning Commission to fill the unexpired term of Kenneth Geppert. This motion was tabled and Council discussion ensued regarding other candi- dates. After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, that Resolution No. 80-113, appointing Larry M. Lindsey as a member of the Planning Commission to fill the unexpired term of Kenneth Geppert, said term to expire May 5, 1982, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: None
