MINUTES' <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> February 11,. 1980 <br /> <br /> 7:30 P.M. - EXECUTIVE SESSION~ CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM - LITIGATION <br /> Mayor Brandes and Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, and Wood, met in Executive <br /> Session at 7:30 P.M., at the City Hall Conference Room, to discuss litigation. <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> "'Mayor Frank Brandes, Jr., called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to <br />order at 8:10 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Wood, and Mayor Brandes were present. Councilmember <br />Kephart was absent. Mr. Walker, Acting City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, <br />and Mr. Swift, Assistant Planner, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker requested that item 4d - Acceptance of Work on Interceptor Sewer from <br />Peter Cole Jansen, be removed from the agenda at the request of staff. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker requested that an item be added to the agenda to be discussed after <br /> the Consent Calendar regarding Southwest Nuclear Company Agreement. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br /> the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, as amended thereto, be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 1-14-80, 1-15-80, and 1-22-80. <br /> <br />b. Adoption of Resolution No. 80-29, authorizing James R. Walker, Acting City <br /> tit ' <br /> Manager, to be the y s representative to acquire federal surplus property <br /> from the California State Agency for surplus property; and Adoption of Resolu- <br /> tion No. 80-30, authorizing James R. Walker, Acting City Manager, to execute <br /> for and in behalf of the City of Pleasanton applications and documents for the <br /> purpose of obtaining financial assistance under the Federal Civil Defense Act <br /> of 1950, as amended. <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 80-31, approving extension of contract to June 30, <br /> 1980, for Fire Protection Services to the following Unincorporated Areas: (1) <br /> Remen Tract; (2) C~Stlewood; (3) Happy Valley; amd (4) Stanley Boulevard. <br /> <br />d. Acceptance of'Work on Interceptor Sewer from Peter Cole Jensen, removed from <br /> agenda at the request of staff for additional information. <br /> <br /> e. Proclaim Week of February 16-23, 1980, as California Community College Week in <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> f. ProclaimMarch 7, 1980, as Arbor Day in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> <br />
