MINUTES <br /> of <br />" THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> January 27, 1981 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO THE FLAG <br /> Mayor Kenneth Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at <br /> 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Mr. <br /> Walker, City Manager, Mr. Levine, City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director of Public <br /> Works and Utilities, and Mr. Swift, Assistant to the City Attorney, were present. <br /> <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker advised there would be an Executive Session held at the conclusion of <br /> this meeting to discuss labor relations. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that <br /> the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: <br /> <br /> a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 1-13-81 and 1~19-81. <br /> <br /> b. Adoption of Resolution No. 81-12, approving Agreement to the Exchange of Property <br /> Tax Revenue for Annexation No. 80 (Evans), and adoption of Resolution No. 81-13, <br /> approving Agreement to the Exchange of Property Tax Revenue for Annexation No. 81 <br /> (Hacienda). <br /> <br /> c. Adoption of Resolution No. 81-14, approving Claims for the. month of December, <br /> 1980, in the amount of $1,858,142.44. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCII~MEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Wood advised there would be a California Resource Rally heMin <br /> April to encourage waste recycling and reduction activities. It was moved by <br /> Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that Resolution No. 81-15, <br /> endorsing and supporting the objectives and goals of the California Resource Rally, <br /> and proclaiming April 20-26, 1981, as the Great California Resource Rally, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br />..... ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested permission of Council to instruct the City Attorney to <br /> contact the City of Antioch regarding their law suit against BART relative to either <br /> providing service or refund of taxes paid for this service. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> <br />
