105 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> November 13, 1984 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br /> at 8:00 P.M., and then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer were present. Mr. <br /> Walker, City Manager, Mr. MacDonald, City Attorney, Mr. Warnick, Director of Public <br /> Works and Utilities, and Mr. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development, <br /> were present. <br /> <br /> CANVASS RETURNS OF ELECTION <br /> Mr. Walker advised that final election results were received from the Office of <br /> the Registrar of Voters late this date. He presented a draft resolution which certi- <br /> fied the election results as follows: <br /> <br /> City Council <br />- Karin Mohr 10,741 <br /> Kenneth R. Mercer 10,674 <br /> Robert E. Butler 8,803 <br /> Ben Tarver 6,111 <br /> Jerry Morrow 5,468 <br /> Maurice E. McFadden 1,753 <br /> George H. Phillips III 1,094 <br /> <br /> City Treasurer <br /> ~ancy D'Arcy 9,339 <br /> Christian J. MillerIII 4,364 <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood,'that <br /> Resolution No. 84-571, declaring the results of the 1984 Municipal Election, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> SWEARING IN OF COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Mr. Walker administered the Oath of Office to Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and <br /> Mayor Mercer, for four year terms effective November 13, 1984. <br /> <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker stated that he had received a request from Hacienda Business Park re- <br /> questing that item 4c - Adoption of Ordinance No. 1164, amending Article 1, Chapter 7 <br /> (Traffic Regulation Applying to Private Property), Title V of the Ordinance Code, re- <br /> lative to removal of vehicles from private property, be continued to the meeting of <br /> November 27, 1984, to allow for discussion. Council concurred. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised there would be an Executive Session held at the conclusion of <br /> this meeting to discuss personnel, labor relations, and pending litigation. <br /> <br /> <br />
