331 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> NOVEMBER 15, 1988 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the <br />City Council to order at 7:30 p.m., and then led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is <br />recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Mohr, Wilson, and <br />Mayor Mercer were present. Councilmember Butler was absent. Mr <br /> - <br />Walker, City Manager, Mr. Roush, City Attorney, Mr. Swift, <br />Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Elliott, <br />Director of Public Works and Utilities, and Mr. Bocian, Assistant <br />City Manager, were present. <br /> <br />DECLARING RESULTS OF NOVEMBER 8, 1988 GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> Mr. Bocian presented his report (SR 88:539) dated November <br />10, 1988, recommending that the Mayor and City Council (1) refrain <br />from installing the Mayor and Councilmembers until the official <br />Certification of Election Results is received from the Alameda <br />County Registrar of Voters and (2) direct staff to either set a <br />time and place for a Special Meeting of the City Council <br />immediately upon receipt of the Official Certification of Election <br />Results or to continue Items 2A and 2B to the December 6 City <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that the results of the election are not <br />available; the Registrar of Voters stated today the vote count <br />would be certified on November 22, 1988. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council determined not to set a special <br />meeting at this time but to wait until after receipt of the <br />certified results of the election before taking of action and <br />swearing in any new members. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> Mr. Walker stated that the following item should be added to <br />the Consent Calendar as item 4p - Approval of Application and <br />Project Agreement for History and Archeology Grant Funds for the <br />Alviso Adobe Restoration Project from the California Wildlife, <br />Coastal, and Park Land Conservation Act of 1988. <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker advised that item 9b - RZ-88-10, Application of <br />the City of Pleasanton to amend the Municipal Code of the City of <br />Pleasanton to delete "Cardrooms" as a permitted use in the CR(m), <br />and as a conditionally permitted use in the CR(p) and CC District <br /> 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
