MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 21, 1989 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Kenneth R. Mercer called the Regular Meeting of the CityCouncil to order at 7:30 p.m. He introduced Cub Scout Troup 946,Den 1, who led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL Deputy City Clerk Doris George called the roll which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor Mercer were present. Mr. Walker, City Manager, Mr. Roush, City Attorney, Mr. Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development, Mr. Elliott, Director of Public Works and Utilities, Ms. Bengtson, Director of Parks and Community Services, Mr. Bocian, Assistant City Manager, and Mr. Lee, Principal Planner, were present. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mr. Walker advised that item 9b - Application of Westbrook Housing Group, will be continued to the meeting of March 7, 1989, as noted on the agenda. Councilmember Brandes stated he would like to add an item to the agenda to consider putting the Ordinance concerning the Redevelopment Plan on a ballot for vote by the people. (The matter arose after the agenda was posted). It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Tarver, that Resolution No. 89-80, adding to the agenda consideration of a special election for the Redevelopment Plan for Downtown Pleasanton, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: None CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 2-7-89. b. Adoption of Ordinance No. 1397, amending Section 2 (part) of Ordinance No. 1082, as amended, and Section 15.20.180 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code, concerning the schedule of rates and charges for sewer connection fees. - 1 - 2-21-89
