Tarver called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at <br />6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> The roll was as follows: Councilmembers Rebecca L. Dennis, Karin Mohr, Thomas P. <br />Pico Jr., Dorothy N. Scribner and Mayor Ben C. Tarver. Staff members present were: <br />Deborah Acosta, City Manager, and Michael II. Roush, City Attorney. <br /> <br /> REVIEW OF PROCESS TO BE FOLLOWED TO SELECT FOUR AT LARGE <br />0ENERAL PLAN STEERIN0 COMMITTEE MEMBERS <br /> <br /> Council reviewed the May 1, 1993 minutes and discussed the five step selection process <br />(please see attached). <br /> <br />4, SELECTION OF STEERING COMMrIWEE MEMBERS <br /> <br />Council began the five step selection process. <br /> <br />Step One: The Mayor and each Councilmember selected eight names from a list of the 47 <br />applicants. Twenty four individuals were selected, but there were no individuals who had been <br />selected by the MaYor and Council. <br /> <br />Step Two: The Mayor and each Councilmember selected six names from the list of 24 <br />remaining applicants. Stanley Erickson was selected by the Mayor and all the Council. Mr. <br />Eriekson was the first of the four at large appointments. Fourteen names remained on the list. <br /> <br />Step Three: The Mayor and each Councilmember selected four names from the remaining 14 <br />applicants.
