MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> September 7, 1999 <br /> <br /> 6:00 p.m. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> Conferred with legal counsel regarding pending litigation (City of Pleasanton v. <br /> County of Alameda) (Altamont Landfill Expansion) <br /> Conferred with legal counsel regarding potential litigation against Alameda County <br /> concerning its certification of an EIR and its approval of a specific land plan and related <br /> land use entitlements for the San Francisco Water Department's Bernal Avenue property. <br /> Conferred with legal counsel regarding pending litigation (Standard pacific v. City <br /> of Pleasanton) <br /> <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:08 p.m. <br />-- Ms. Michelotti led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She referred to the recent <br /> rededication of the Pleasanton Library and invited everyone to visit the newly renovated <br /> library and meet the new staff. She also welcomed the newly appointed Police Chief, <br /> Timothy Neal. <br /> <br /> 2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Tom Pico, and <br /> Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were: Steven Bocian, Assistant City Manager; <br /> Michael Roush, City Attomey; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community <br /> Development; Randall A. Lum, Public Works Director; Steve Cusenza, Manager of Utilities; <br /> Bill van Gelder, Traffic Manager; and Nelson Fialho, Assistant to the City Manager. <br /> <br /> 3.
