MINUTES
OF
THE
MEETING
OF
THE CITY COUNCIL

July 19, 1994

1. CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Ben C. Tarver called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at
7:00 p.m.

Opening Comments.'

Ms. Scribner spoke about the discussion regarding the exclusion of the BART Station at
Stoneridge from funding of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and whether the City
of Pleasanton should sue them for that action. As she listened to those who spoke at the meeting
it became clear to her that the community is divided and there is hostility between the groups.
Ms. Scribner stated that it was in 1897 that Boston became the first city in the United States to
have a subway. She provided this information to show how far behind the Bay Area was in
rapid transit.

2. ROLL CALL

City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows:
Councilmembers Rebecca L. Dennis, Karin Mohr, Dorothy N. Scribner and Mayor Ben C.
Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Michael H. Roush, City
Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; and Randall L.
Lum, Director of Public Works.

Thomas P. Pico Jr. was absent and excused.

3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS

Ms. Acosta requested that Item 10a, Annual Baseline Traffic Report be continued to the
August 2, 1994 City Council meeting.

07/19/94 1
