EDUCATION SUPPORT FACILITY - DISCUSSION

Mike Ananos, Director of Facilities, presented the proposal for the facility on First
Street.

Mr. Pico asked if the City staff was satisfied with the proposal.

Mr. Swift indicated the planning staff had done design review only and had not yet seen
the final plans for walls or colors. The Building Department will do the plan checking.

Dan Clapp, 4961 Monaco Drive, objected to the proposed project because of his concerns
about on-site vehicle maintenance. He believed the vehicle maintenance should be performed
at a location in an industrial zone or one requiring a conditional use permit in order to regulate
noise, hours of operation, etc. He was also concerned about the proposed shiny tin roof and
believed it was not appropriate for this area. Mr. Clapp was also concerned about traffic
impacts and possible danger to children walking on Bernal Avenue.

5/31/94 - 1 -
