MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> April 15, 1997 <br /> <br /> 6:00 p.m. Youth in Government Dinner <br /> <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Sonny Ventimiglio, on behalf of Mayor Tarver, called the Regular Meeting of the City <br /> Council to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Sonny Ventimiglio led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala said that today was Youth in Government Day that was promoted by the <br /> Youth Commission in conjunction with the Pleasanton Unified School District and the Tri-Valley <br />-- YMCA. The purpose of Youth in Government Day is to stimulate interest in municipal <br /> government and give youths a better understanding of the democratic process. She asked Elena <br /> Reeder, one of the student participants, to comment on how the day started, how many students <br /> participated and what schools they were from. <br /> <br /> Elena Reeder explained that nineteen students participated and each one was assigned to <br /> spend the day with someone from the City. The students were from Village and Foothill High <br /> Schools. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ventimiglio asked the students to introduce themselves. They are as follows: Jesse <br /> Aguilar, Village; Robert Pecot, Foothill; Michelle Gill, Foothill; Michael Mankarious, Foothill; <br /> Johnny Li, Village; Wendi Epps, Village, Elena Reeder, Village; Katherine Levenson, Village; <br /> Melissa King, Village; Monica Flentge, Village; Matthew Balek, Village; Christina Nunes, <br /> Village, Heather Garrison, Foothill; Amy Wanden, Village; Alvin DeLeon, Village; Eddie <br /> Richardson, Youth Commission; Andrea Tacdol, Youth Commission; Dave Coberly, Foothill; <br /> Jay Hickman, Foothill; and Mark McLean, Foothill. <br /> <br /> 2.
