12 <br />THE CITY OF <br />PL£~S~4NTONa <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />August 21, 2007 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF AN EASEMENT TO PG&E THROUGH THE CITY'S <br />CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT (CBD) PARKING LOT ON PETERS <br />AVENUE <br />SUMMARY <br />In the late 1970's, the City constructed a public parking lot on Peters Avenue to provide <br />additional parking in the downtown area. James Byrd, the owner of the newly <br />remodeled building at 328 St. Mary Street, immediately adjacent to the public parking <br />lot, has requested that PG&E upgrade electrical the service to the building. This service <br />upgrade will require the installation of underground service across the driveway serving <br />the City parking lot from St. Mary Street. Mr. Byrd, is asking the City to grant an <br />easement to PG&E across the driveway for the installation of underground utilities. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve the grant of easement to PG&E across the driveway to St. Mary Street <br />within the City's CBD Parking Lot on Peters Avenue for the installation of <br />underground utilities. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to sign the document granting the easement. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There will not be any increase in the operating budget resulting from approval of this <br />PG&E easement. <br />
