THE CITY OF <br />PL~£~S~4NTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />August 21, 2007 <br />Parks and Community Services <br />TITLE: REVIEW AND CONSIDERATION OF DOWNTOWN PUBLIC ART <br />MASTER PLAN <br />SUMMARY <br />The proposed Downtown Public Art Master Plan is now complete and ready for the City <br />Council's approval. The Plan is a Council priority project, and includes suggestions and <br />methods for the placement of additional public art in the Downtown area. The Plan has <br />been reviewed by the Parks and Recreation Commission, Economic Vitality Committee, <br />and has the full support of the Civic Arts Commission. <br />CIVIC ARTS COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br />The Civic Arts Commission recommends that the City Council approve the Downtown <br />Public Art Master Plan. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff concurs with the recommendation of the Civic Arts Commission. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />All publicly funded projects developed as a result of the Plan would be funded from the <br />City's special Public Art Acquisition Fund, which is funded annually through the regular <br />budget process, or grants/private contributions. <br />
