PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2740 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON APPROVING A USE PERMIT FOR GOOD <br />SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH AS FILED UNDER CASE <br />UP-85-52 <br />WHEREAS, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has applied for a <br />conditional use permit to allow the establishment of a <br />church in a portion of an existing industrial building <br />located at 1257 Quarry Lane; and <br />WHEREAS, the property is zoned PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development)-Industrial District; and <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of January 8, 1986 <br />the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits and recommendations of the staff <br />concerning this application; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission found that the proposed location <br />of the conditional use is in accordance with the <br />objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purposes of <br />the district in which the site is located. A church in <br />Valley Business Park will not interfere with the <br />purposes and uses of the PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development)-Industrial District. Worship services and <br />church meetings will be held during non-business hours <br />of the Park, Sundays and weekday evenings; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission found that the proposed location <br />of the conditional use and the conditions under which it <br />would be operated or maintained will not be detrimental <br />to the public health, safety, or welfare, or materially <br />injurious to the properties or improvements in the <br />vicinity. The location of the church is within a <br />business park and will not be detrimental to the public <br />health, safety or welfare of adjacent properties. All <br />services will be held within an existing building during <br />non-business hours of Valley Business Park and will not <br />adversely affect property or workers within the Park; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed conditional use will comply with each of <br />the applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance. The <br />proposed church facility will comply with all provisions <br />of Article 25, Conditional Uses, of the Pleasanton <br />Zoning Code. <br />
