Commissioners <br />absent: None. <br />No minutes were submitted. <br />Linnea Notton addressed the Commissi <br />and referred to her presentation <br />before the City Council for the <br />establishment of a bicycle path alon <br />Foothill Road. She indicated that <br />at the Council meeting she was <br />encouraged to present her request <br />to the Planning Commission. <br />Mrs. Notton presented a petition <br />totaling 23 pages with over 400 <br />signatures requesting a bicycle path. <br />She stated that although it is not a <br />legal document, it does reflect the <br />opinion of those living along Foothil <br />Road. <br />She further indicated that in her <br />opinion a bond issue allowing an <br />assessment for the cost of these <br />paths would pass. <br />Chairman Garrigan stated that the <br />Planning Commission is working with <br />the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />for the creation of a bicycle and <br />hiking trail system and it will be <br />discussed at the Commission level. <br />Mr. Castro advised the Commission <br />that the first staff meeting was <br />held a week ago to review the pre- <br />liminary report and that one of the <br />concerns raised by staff was the im- <br />provement of temporary riding trails <br />within the City.
