.MINUTES <br />PLADTNING COr4P4ISSION <br />Pleasanton Council Chambers <br />30 West Angela Street <br />February 27, 1978 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The special meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 7:30 PM <br />by Chairman Butler. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Doherty, Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood, Chairman Butler <br />Commissioners Absnet: None <br />Staff Members Present: Robert Harris, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; Harvey Levine, City Attorney; <br />Don Sooby, Director of Engineering Services; <br />Yvonne McFadden, Recording Secretary <br />APPP.OVAL OF T~IINUTES <br />No minutes were submitted for approval. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS - NEW BUSINESS <br />Z-78-22, Tri-Ci'ti'es Ambulance, Inc. - application for a home occupation <br />permit to operate an ambulance service out of a residence located at 4107 <br />Nevis Street, Pleasanton; zoning. for the property is R-1-6500 (Single Family) <br />District. <br />Z-78-29, Tri-Cities Ambulance, Inc. - application for a home occupation <br />permit to operate an ambulance service out of a residence located at 4195 <br />Francisco Street, Pleasanton; zoning for the property is R-1-6500 ( Single <br />Family) District. <br />This application came about as a result of concerns expressed to the ambulance <br />service by both the City Manager and the County regarding the ambulance company <br />barely meeting the contract response times. Previous attempts to locate a <br />station in a residential area all failed because of neighborhood opposition <br />and Planning Commission conviction that certain residential locations would <br />not be advantageous for such a service. <br />Secretary Harris stated that he had learned indirectly that the proponents <br />intended to withdraw consideration of the Nevis Street location and only con- <br />sider the Francisco Street location. At this point, the proponents confirmed <br />that they wished to withdraw consideration of the Nevis Street application. <br />Staff is recommending approval of the Francisco Street site because it <br />possesses immediate access to a major street. One other asset is that there <br />is a median break in Santa Rita Road at Francisco Street, which would allow <br />both left and right turns. <br />Opposition to the service in this area has been received via two letters <br />and five phone calls. <br />For the information of those present, City Attorney Levine read the required <br />conditions listed in the Home Occupation Ordinance. <br />__..._._.....r__.._ ..._ ___ ..._.._. ........_ .__ _..,.._. _ _., . .~.,..._. ,.. _ _ _..~._ _... . <br />
