MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Cultural Arts Center <br />July 11, 1979 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at <br />10:15 P.M. by Chairman Gregg Doherty. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Joyce Getty, Bill Jamieson and Chairman <br />Gregg Doherty <br />Commissioners Absent: Ken Leppert and DeWitt Wilson (Mr. Geppert <br />was ill and Mr. Wilson was out of town on vacation) <br />Staff Present: Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; Alan B. Campbell, Director <br />of Public Works; Walt Schaumburg, Associate Civil <br />Engineer; Brian Swift, Assistant Planner; and <br />Shirley McDougall, Recording Secretary <br />Council Members Present: Walt Wood (for the entire meeting); Mayor Frank <br />C. Brandes, Jr. and Councilmember Kephart arrived <br />just before RAP was to be considered. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Minutes of June 13, 1979 were not approved pending the confirmation <br />of the motion made concerning RZ-79-05. The motion was corrected to read: <br />Commissioner Wilson then made a motion which was seconded by Commissioner <br />Getty that all of the subject area except the Madden property, railroad <br />rights-of-way and Earl Augusta's property be prezoned R-1-20,000. With <br />regard to the remainder of the subject area, that Madden's property remain <br />as it is (prezoned A), and the W.P.R.R. right-of-way be left unzoned and <br />that the S.P.R.R. right-of-way and Augusta's property be prezoned "A".. <br />Commissioner Doherty stated also that concerning the two meetings each <br />month of the Planning Commission that the second Thursday of the month <br />would be for the Board of Adjustment and Design Review Board; and the <br />second Wednesday of the month would be for the Planning Commission meeting. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Harris stated that item 5(a), PUD-79-2 should be continued to August 8; <br />5(b), GP-79-8 continued to July 26 after the Downtown Study was heard, <br />UP-79-14, continued to July 26, 1979 and that Z-79-80, Capilla be heard <br />tonight as 7(b) on this agenda. The Commission concurred with these changes. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY THE COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Chairman Doherty then presented an aerial map of the City as done by Pacific <br />Aerial Survey Company, Oakland; document AV-1700-12-25, dated May 12, 1979. <br />He stated the Councilmembers and staff should obtain one as it is one of <br />the best ones he has ever seen of Pleasanton. <br />
