i <br />/,' <br />(~ MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />September 12, 1979 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Gregg Doherty. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Leppert, Getty, Jamieson and Chairman Doherty <br />Commissioner Absent: Wilson (vacation) <br />Staff Members Present: Alan B. Campbell, Director of Public Works <br />and Utilities; Robert J. Harris, Director of <br />Planning and Community Development; and <br />Shirley McDougall, Recording Secretary <br />Councilmember Present: Walt Wood, Liaison <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />The minutes of the July 26, 1979, and August 8, 1979 meetings were <br />approved as submitted. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION <br />No one addressed the Commission. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Harris stated that items 5a, GP-79-8; 5c, UP-79-14; 6d, PUD-79-9, <br />6e, PUD-79-11; and 6f, PUD-79-2 should be continued to the meeting <br />of October 10, 1979. The Commission concurred with these requests. <br />Mr. Harris further stated that the Downtown Study will be passed out <br />to the Commissioners at the Design Review Board meeting of September 13, <br />1979 . <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY THE COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Getty expressed concern wit regard to a precise improvement <br />plan concerning Pico Avenue. Mr. Campbell responded that as soon as the <br />developers come in with a development plan showing precisely where the <br />street should go, the staff would review it. He stated the staff feels <br />it impractical to have the street designed without serious development <br />plans by the developer. Commissioner Getty stated she is very concerned <br />about the many projects which have come before the Commission regarding <br />this area and she stated she feels the City should have precise improve- <br />ment plans for this street. Commissioner Doherty stated the Commission <br />has previously suggested that Mission Park Investors and Centex should <br />meet concerning this topic. Mr. Campbell stated it would be a mistake <br />for the City to prepare a precise plan for the improvements when they <br />have not seen the developer's final plans. <br />Chairman Doherty stated he had received a communication from Mayor Brandes <br />concerning putting together a committee for the purpose of reviewing <br />the total Urbanization Line. He asked for two Commissioners to volunteer <br />and he would take their names at the end of this meeting. <br />
