MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Wednesday, October 10, 1979 <br />7:30pm <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairman Gregg Doherty <br />ROLL CALL <br />Commissioners Present: Joyce Getty, Bill Jamieson, DeWitt Wilson and Chairman <br />Gregg Doherty (Commissioner Wilson left the meeting <br />because of illness after PUD-79-2 was considered) <br />Commissioner Absent: Ken Geppert <br />Staff Members Present: Alan B. Campbell, Director of Public Works and Utilities; <br />Robert J. Harris, Director of Planning and Community Development; <br />Walt Schaumburg, Associate Civil Engineer; and Shirley McDougall, <br />Recording Secretary <br />Council Members Present: Mayor Frank Brandes was present from 9:45pm to 12:15am <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited. <br />The Minutes of the September 12, 1979 were approved as submitted. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Terry Bell, 4722 Harrison Street addressed the Commission concerning the proposed <br />apartments on Harrison Street and made reference to the Downtown Study. It was explained <br />to Mr. Bell that the Downtown Study and related matters would be considered after Design <br />Review Board on October 11, 1979 at a Special Planning Commission Meeting. Mr. Bell <br />indicated he would defer his comments until that meeting. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Harris stated that GP-79-8 would be continued to the Planning Commission meeting of <br />October 11, 1979, 8:OOpm at which time the Downtown Study would also be considered. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY THE COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Chairman Doherty stated that Candy Simeon of the Livermore Planning Commission had contacted <br />him concerning the possibility of having a joint Planning Commission meeting. He asked the <br />public to indicate any topics which they would like presented on that agenda and for any <br />interested person to call the City Planning Staff and indicate those topics in preparation <br />of the agenda. <br />/. <br />GP-79-8, Harris Realty <br />Application for a general plan amendment to change the general plan designation of properties <br />located at 444, 459, 471, 486 and 496 St. Mary Street from "High Density Residential" to <br />"Commercial and Offices". A negative declaration of environmental impacts will also be <br />considered. <br />This matter was continued as requested until October 11, 1979, 8:OOpm, Alameda County <br />Fairgrounds. <br />-1- <br />
