THE CITY OF 14 <br />pL~~S~4NTON® CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />1 <br />March 20, 2007 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO CONTRACTS WITH BSK & <br />ASSOCIATES AND ENGEO INC. FOR ON-CALL GEOTECHNICAL <br />CONSULTING AND MATERIAL TESTING SERVICES <br />SUMMARY <br />The City has an ongoing need for on-call geotechnical consulting and material testing <br />services for Capital Improvement Projects. On January 4, 2005, the City Council <br />approved contracts with the firms of BSK & Associates and Engeo Inc. for anot-to- <br />exceed aggregate total amount of $350,000. Based on current project needs, staff <br />recommends Amendment No. 1 to both contracts, to increase the amount of <br />expenditures for these required services from the not-to-exceed aggregate total amount <br />of $350,000 to $400,000 utilizing existing CIP project funds. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve Amendment No. 1 to the contracts with BSK & Associates and <br />Engeo Inc., increasing the authorization of expenditures for existing on-call <br />geotechnical consulting and material testing services from anot-to-exceed <br />aggregate total amount of $350,00 to $400,000. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contract amendments. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Funds for this work are included in the approved Operations and Capital Improvement <br />budgets. No additional funds need to be appropriated for these contract amendments. <br />
