PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />A LAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESO[._LJTION NO_ PC-2006-04 <br />RESOLi_TTION APPROVING: A CONDITIONAL USE, YEKMl"f FOR DAN JONES, RCLLJI3 <br />INTERACTIVE FITNESS, 1NC., AS FILED UN[J1=.R CAS1=, YC:UP-149 <br />W1iEREA.S, Dan Jones, RC]lub h~teractive Fitness, lnc., has applied fibr a conditional use <br />permit to operate a fitness [acility in an existing building located at 1 ] 533 Dublin <br />Canyon Road.; and <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD-C-O <Planned Unit Devcloprrxent - Commercial- <br />Olfice) District; and <br />WLiEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of Jan uary 25., 2006, the Plannirg Comxrxission <br />considered all public tcsti rrxony, relevant exhibits, and rec.on-ixnendations of the <br />City stal f con corning this application; and <br />W I I EREAS, projects of this nature arc categorically exempt from the requirements of the <br />CJaliforni a. Environmental Quality Act ~CEQA); and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning C7ommission made the following Endings= <br />1 . The proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with the <br />objectives of the zoning ordinance acid the purpose of the district in which <br />tl-xc site is located- <br />"fhe objectives stated in the zoning ordinance include fostering harxrxonious, <br />convenient, workable relationship among laud uses, protecting land uses from <br />inharmonious intl uences and harmful intrusions, and ensuring that public and <br />private lands are used [or the purposes which are most appropriate and beneficial <br />to the City as a whole- The proposed facility is asmall-scaled personal fiitness <br />facility that provides services to adults and youth. All activities associated. with <br />ih <- use would bc. c:onfined inside the building- In the- past, the City has approved <br />similar uses which have been operating in the coninicrcial-ofitice zoning districts <br />without any land use conflict with other businesses ixi the surrounding area. The <br />proposed personal training facility would he consistent with the above-cited <br />objectives- Therefore, this finding can he made. <br />
