CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1920 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING <br /> CHAPTER 20.20 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> CONCERNING THE ADOPTION OF THE 2004 EDITION <br /> OF THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING STANDARDS CODE <br /> (TITLE 24 OF THE CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS), <br /> INCLUDING BY REFERENCE THE 2002 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 17958 and Section 17958.5 allow the <br /> City, by ordinance, to make modifications or changes to the State Building <br /> Standards Code and other regulations adopted pursuant to California Health and <br /> Safety code Section 17922; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 17958.5 requires that such changes <br /> must be determined to be reasonably necessary because of local climatic, <br /> geographical or topographical conditions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 17958.7 requires that the City, before <br /> making any modifications or changes pursuant to Health and Safety Code <br /> Sections 17958 and Section 17958.5, shall make an express finding that each such <br /> modification of change is needed; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such findings must be made available as a public record and a copy thereof with <br /> each such modification or change shall be filed with the California Building <br /> Standards Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council hereby determines that the proposed ordinance, presented <br /> herewith, is the 2004 Edition of the California Building Standards Code Title 24 <br /> of the California Code of Regulations (24 C.C.R.), with amendments thereto, as <br /> adopted by the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 18941.5, <br /> revisions to Pleasanton Municipal Code Chapter 20.20, as provided in this <br /> Ordinance, are necessary for the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the <br /> City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br /> <br />
