PC-93-09

RESOLUTXON APPROVXNG A CONDXTXONAL USE PERKXT AS FXLED UNDER
CASE UP-93-04 FOR BOHNXE JEAN MILLER

WHEREAS, Bonnie Jean Miller has applied for a conditional use
permit to establish a therapeutic massage studio located
at 555 Peters Avenue; and

WHEREAS, zoning for the property is C-C (Central Commercial)
Downtown Revitalization District;

WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of February 10,
1993, the Planning Commission considered all public
testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the
City staff concerning this application; and

WHEREAS, the Planning commission made the following findings:

A. That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning
ordinance and the purpose of the district in which
the site is located.

Some of the objectives of the zoning ordinance are
to: foster a harmonious, convenient, workable
relationship among land uses, protect existing land
uses from inharmonious influences and harmful
intrusions, and to insure that public and private
lands ultimately are used for the purposes which
are most appropriate and beneficial to the city as
a whole. Also, the subject building is located in
the C-C (Central Commercial) Downtown
Revitalization District. Some purposes of the
Downtown Revitalization District which this project
supports are to revitalize the economic growth and
health of and foster civic pride in the Downtown,
and stabilize and enhance the value of the
property. The proposed studio would add to the
economic vitality and diversity of the Downtown,
possibly contributing patronage to other
businesses. This use would also increase the
availability of health services to the residents of
this area, as well as the daytime workers.

B. That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, or welfare, or materially injurious
to the properties or improvements in the vicinity.

.. ." .
