MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDmNCE TO ADDRESS THE
PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE
AGENDA

Re-opened at 9:15 p.m. Mike Butler, 2824 Garden Creek Circle, stated he is opposed to the
application PUD-96-19, Early Learning Institute, to be located north of the Stone Pointe
Way/Stone35 feet.ridge Drive intersection. This is a matter that will be presented to the Commission
sometime in the future. This area has had a lot of development recently and this proposed
development will increase the level of traffic. A new elementary school is being built at the end of
Stoneridge, and the impact on traffic from this school has yet to be determined. There is high
density apartments in this area. The St. Elizabeth Seton Church is planning construction of a full-
sized church which will also increase traffic. The proposed school is to accommodate up to 400
students. This is too many students for the size of property involved (3 acre parcel). Mr. Butler
is concerned about public safety and the impacts on the local residents, increased traffic, and the
possible negative impact on property values. Mr. Butler invited the Commissioners to contact him
if they would like to discuss this issue further.

In response to Chair Barker, Mr. Butler stated he learned of the project through a notification from
planning staff. He then learned of an open house being held at another Early Learning Institute
location. After attending the open house, the Mr. Butler disliked the proposed project even more.
