THE CiTY OF <br /> <br />pLEAS&NTONo <br /> <br />4K <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br /> January 4, 2004 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF THE RECREATIONAL TRAIL AT THE <br />CALLIPPE PRESERVE GOLF COURSE AND OPEN SPACE <br />PROJECT <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of January 4, 2004: <br /> <br />Acknowledge that the terms of the agreement have been satisfied by <br />United States Forest Service for the training of City Staff in trail design <br />and construction and accept the pedestrian and equestrian trail <br />improvements at the Callippe Preserve Golf Course as complete. <br /> <br />Authorize City staff to submit documentation for reimbursement from <br />the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) of authorized <br />TDA grant funding for this project in the amount of $75,000. <br /> <br />3. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the Project. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />On May 4, 2004 the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter <br />into a service agreement with the United States Forest Service (USFS) for <br />the training of City Staff in the design, construction and maintenance of <br />trails, and the construction of a hiking/equestrian trail in the open space <br />area surrounding the Callippe Preserve Golf Course. The trail <br />construction and training of City Staff has been completed. <br /> <br />A portion of the funding for this trail project is from the Transportation <br />Development Act, Article 3 funds. City Staff will submit final <br /> <br />SR:05:006 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
