THE CITY OF <br /> <br />pL£AS, NTON <br /> <br />4N <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br /> January 4, 2005 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF ON-CALL CONSULTANT CONTRACTS FOR <br />GEOTECHNICAL AND MATERIAL TESTING SERVICES WITH <br />THE FIRMS BSK & ASSOCIATES, GEOTECHNICAL <br />CONSULTANTS, INC. AND ENGEO INCORPORATED <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of January 4, 2004 <br /> <br />1. Approve consultant contracts with BSK & Associates Geotechnical <br /> Consultants, Inc. and ENGEO Inc. to provide on-call geotechnical and <br /> material testing in the total aggregate amount not-to-exceed $350,000 <br /> until the term of June 30, 2007. <br /> <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contract. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The City has an ongoing need for a firm to provide on-call geotechnical and <br />material testing services. City staff sent a Request for Qualifications <br />(R.F.Q's) to nine local firms from the City's existing database for <br />geotechnical and testing services. Three firms provided statements of <br />qualifications. City staff reviewed the qualifications and invited the three <br />firms for interviews. Based on the firms' qualifications, interviews, and <br />references, staff is recommending that City Council approve contracts with <br />the firms of BSK & Associates Geotechnical Consultants, Inc. and ENGEO <br />Inc. for services until June 30, 2007. <br /> <br />SR:05:019 <br />Page 1 of 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
