14
THE CITY OF
1,,,. "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
PLEASANTON.
July 18, 2023
Library and Recreation
TITLE: AUTHORIZE THE REALLOCATION OF $72,000 FROM THE PIONEER
CEMETERY MASTER PLAN IMPLEMENTATION RESERVE IN THE PARK
DEVELOPMENT IMPACT FEES FUND TO THE CEMETERY REPAIRS AND
RENOVATIONS PROJECT
SUMMARY
On March 14, 2023, major damage occurred to the Pleasanton Pioneer Cemetery
(PPC) staging and storage area when six Eucalyptus globulus trees fell on the cemetery
hillside and the storage/staging area. Additionally, two remaining Eucalyptus globulus
trees were at risk of failing without immediate removal or pruning. Staff solicited quotes
and selected the low bidder to perform the emergency tree work. Staff has now received
cost estimates of $72,000 for work to restore the cemetery to include fence, irrigation,
landscape, and pathway repairs, as well as the removal and replacement of the storage
shed.
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the reallocation of $72,000 from the Pioneer Cemetery Master Plan
Implementation Reserve in the Park Development Impact Fees Fund to the Cemetery
Repairs and Renovations Project to complete cemetery repairs.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
Approximately $512,000 is available in the Pioneer Cemetery Master Plan
Implementation Reserve, which provides sufficient funding to transfer $72,000 to the
Cemetery Repairs and Renovations Project account.
