CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> July 18, 2023 <br /> City Manager <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES <br /> AGREEMENT WITH TOWNSEND PUBLIC AFFAIRS FOR LEGISLATIVE <br /> ADVOCACY AND GRANT APPLICATION TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE <br /> SERVICES TO EXTEND THE TERM OF AGREEMENT TO JUNE 30, 2025, <br /> AND INCREASE AMOUNT OF THE AGREEMENT BY $60,000 FOR A <br /> TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $180,000 OVER FIVE YEARS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City has an existing agreement with Townsend Public Affairs to perform legislative <br /> advocacy on behalf of the City and to assist in identifying and applying for federal and <br /> state grants to fund PFAS mitigation efforts. The current agreement is being amended <br /> to extend the length of the contract for two additional years, for a five-year maximum. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the Third Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with Townsend <br /> Public Affairs (Attachment 1) for legislative advocacy and grant application technical <br /> assistance services to extend the term of the agreement to June 30, 2025, and increase <br /> the amount of the agreement by $60,000 for a total amount not to exceed $180,000. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The proposed Third Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with <br /> Townsend Public Affairs is in the amount not to exceed $180,000, an increase of <br /> $60,000 for an extended term of two additional years. Funding for this Agreement is <br /> currently in the operating budget general fund account 00199100-430101. <br />
