13
THE CITY OF IN
PLEASANTON- CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
May 16, 2023
Operations Services
TITLE: APPROVE FOURTH AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR AS-NEEDED
GENERATOR RENTAL AND REPAIR SERVICES WITH GOT POWER, INC.
BY INCREASING THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT BY $250,000 AND
EXTENDING THE TERM THROUGH FISCAL YEAR 2023/24 FOR A TOTAL
NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $1,150,000 OVER A FIVE-YEAR TERM
SUMMARY
The City is responsible for ensuring that potable water pumping stations, sewer lift
stations, storm pump stations, fire stations, police stations and the Operations Services
Center (OSC) are designed and capable to be operated by generators in the event of an
emergency or a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event.
In July 2019, the City entered into an agreement with Got Power, Inc., DBA CD &
Power, for both the repair of City-owned backup generators and the as-needed rental of
temporary back-up generators, in addition to after-hours and weekend emergency
repairs. Staff is currently working to procure a replacement generator, although the
timing of the acquisition is uncertain. As such, the proposed amendment extends this
agreement through June 30, 2024, and adds an annual total of $125,000 for both Fiscal
Years 2022/23 and 2023/24 for a temporary generator rental for the OSC. This is
necessary because the OSC's permanent stationary generator is no longer operational.
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the City Manager to amend the agreement with Got Power, Inc. by extending
the term through Fiscal Year 2023/24 (to June 30, 2024), which includes the original
annual amount of $150,000 and adding $125,000 annually for both Fiscal Years
2022/23 and 2023/24 which increases the total cumulative not-to-exceed amount to
$1,150,000 over five years.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The agreement with Got Power, Inc. is funded by the Water and Sewer Repair and
Replacement Funds, the Water O&M Fund, the Sewer O&M Fund, and the General
Fund in Fiscal Years 2022/23 and 2023/24.
