2 <br /> THE CITY OF NO n <br /> PLEAS <br /> 4NTON CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> May 16, 2023 <br /> City Manager's Office <br /> TITLE: APPROPRIATE $250,000 OF PUBLIC, EDUCATIONAL, AND <br /> GOVERNMENT (PEG) ACCESS FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2022/23 <br /> TO EQUIP THREE CONFERENCE ROOMS TO SERVE AS SATELLITE <br /> LOCATIONS FOR PUBLIC MEETINGS AND UPGRADE EQUIPMENT <br /> IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City receives Public, Educational, and Government (PEG) access fee revenue from <br /> Comcast and AT&T state cable franchise agreements in accordance with the Digital <br /> Infrastructure and Video Competition Act (DIVCA) which is administered by the <br /> California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). These funds are designated for capital <br /> uses that support and expand access to public meetings. This project will provide three <br /> additional locations to serve as satellite sites at which elected officials and members of <br /> the public may actively participate in public meetings. Additionally, this project will <br /> upgrade equipment in the City Council Chamber to further support the delivery of public <br /> meetings. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Appropriate $250,000 from the Public, Educational, and Government (PEG) access <br /> funds for Fiscal Year 2022/23 to equip three conference rooms to serve as satellite <br /> locations for public meetings and upgrade equipment in the City Council Chamber. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is currently an available fund balance of $1 .7 million in the PEG Special Revenue <br /> account (Fund 119) to cover expenditures for this project. <br />
