11 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> "1 "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PLEASANTON, <br /> April 18, 2023 <br /> Information Technology <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH DARKTRACE FOR <br /> CYBERSECURITY SOFTWARE AND SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF <br /> $711,157 FOR A FOUR-YEAR PERIOD <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City continues to make great strides in enhancing its security posture, reducing the <br /> risk of cyber-attacks, and protecting sensitive data and critical systems from being <br /> compromised. Darktrace provides cyber-threat monitoring and autonomous responses <br /> to anomalous behavior within our internal network, systems, and endpoints. Darktrace <br /> also brings advanced threat detection with City email and cloud-based software <br /> solutions. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase agreement with <br /> Darktrace for $711,157 for a four-year term. This amount includes sales tax and will be <br /> paid in the following schedule: $91,567.04 was previously paid, for a 6-month period <br /> within the 4-year agreement, allowing the city to opt out of the agreement if the solution <br /> did not meet our criteria or performance. The 6-month period was procured with a <br /> separate Purchase Order, $82,891.46 upon approval of this purchase agreement; <br /> $178,899.37 in July 2023; $178,899.37 in July 2024; and $178,899.37 in July 2025. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The recent City Council approval of the FY2022/23 midyear budget amendments <br /> provided the budget for this item in the current FY2022/23 budget under the Information <br /> Technology operating budget. As part of the current budget process, staff has <br /> incorporated necessary appropriations in the Information Technology budget for this <br /> agreement for the next two-year budget cycle. Accordingly, appropriations for future <br /> years' costs will be incorporated into budget cycles for approval. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
