12
THE CITY OF
= CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
PLEASANTON.
February 21, 2023
Operations Services
TITLE: RECEIVE UPDATE ON WATER SUPPLY ALTERNATIVES STUDY
SUMMARY
On September 6, 2022, the City Council authorized staff to evaluate water supply
alternatives for the portion of water supply currently sourced via the City's groundwater
pumping quota (3,500 acre-feet/year). Since October 2022 the Water Ad Hoc
Subcommittee has been meeting monthly with the project team to provide feedback and
direction. To date, Brown and Caldwell has collected and reviewed data and information
from the City and Zone 7, developed a comprehensive list of water supply alternatives,
and confirmed a set of evaluation criteria with the subcommittee. Next steps include an
initial screening of the alternatives, development of cost estimates, and detailed
evaluation of the shortlisted alternatives based on multiple evaluation criteria.
RECOMMENDATION
Receive an update on the Water Supply Alternatives Study and provide input to the
Water Ad Hoc Subcommittee and staff.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this update. Funding for this project was
previously approved by the City Council, and the project is on schedule.
