IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED <br /> $152,012 AND APPROPRIATE AN ADDITIONAL $37,012 OF MEASURE BB <br /> FUNDS FOR THIS PURCHASE <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Pleasanton Rides, currently operated by Black Tie Transportation, has three transit <br /> vehicles that provide door-to-door transportation for seniors. The Pleasanton Rides <br /> Operator Agreement requires the City to purchase future vehicles and lease them to <br /> Black Tie Transportation which also maintains the vehicles. The last vehicle acquired for <br /> this program was purchased in 2018. The addition of a new vehicle will support an <br /> expansion of service as well as increase ridership opportunities on service days. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the purchase of a 2022 Lightning eMotors FT3-86 Transit passenger van for <br /> Pleasanton Rides from Lightning Systems Inc. in an amount not to exceed $152,012 <br /> and appropriate an additional $37,012 of Measure BB funds for this purchase. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The vehicle purchase cost is $132,184; the not to exceed amount of$152,012 includes <br /> a 15 percent contingency of$19,828. This purchase would be funded by Alameda <br /> County Transportation Commission Measure BB funds (452) in FY 2022/23. $115,000 <br /> was originally budged for this vehicle. The Measure BB fund balance is approximately <br /> $409,000. Staff requests that City Council appropriate an additional $37,012 to the <br /> vehicles account (45250356-440107) in the Measure BB Fund to cover this purchase. <br /> Annual maintenance and fuel costs will be funded by Black Tie Transportation. <br /> Page of <br />
