2 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> February 1, 2022 <br /> City Manager <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATION TO <br /> CALRECYCLE FOR SB 1383 LOCAL ASSISTANCE GRANT <br /> PROGRAM (FY 2021/22) AND RELATED AUTHORIZATIONS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) offers the SB <br /> 1383 Local Assistance Grant Program pursuant to Chapter 395, Statutes of 2016. This <br /> non-competitive grant program will provide one-time funding to local jurisdictions to <br /> assist with the implementation of regulation requirements associated with SB 1383. <br /> CalRecycle is distributing $57,000,000 for this grant cycle, Fiscal Year 2021/22, subject <br /> to funding availability to eligible cities, counties and special districts directly responsible <br /> for solid waste collection services. <br /> Each city is eligible to receive a $20,000 base award or an amount calculated by <br /> CalRecycle, on a per capita basis, whichever is greater. The City of Pleasanton's per <br /> capita proportional allocation is $103,811 . <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager or <br /> designated staff to submit an application for the CalRecycle SB 1383 Local Assistance <br /> Grant Program Fiscal Year 2021/22 funding cycle. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> If the application is successful, the total allocation will be $103,811 to be received in <br /> April/May 2022. <br />
