THE CITY OF 1 <br />7 <br />°1° i°i CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PLEASANTONo <br />November 16, 2021 <br />Engineering <br />TITLE: ACCEPT AS COMPLETE THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED <br />BY JJR CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE ANNUAL CURB AND GUTTER <br />FOR STREET RESURFACING PROJECT, CIP NO. 21509 <br />SUMMARY <br />This annual project consisted of removing and replacing damaged concrete curb and <br />gutter and concrete sidewalk, as well as the installation or reconstruction of concrete <br />Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian ramps on streets identified for <br />resurfacing in the 2021 Street Maintenance Program. ADA ramps were installed where <br />none existed and replaced where they were significantly out of compliance with current <br />standards, as is required by law. The project was competitively bid and awarded to the <br />low bidder, JJR Construction, Inc., by City Council on April 20, 2021. Construction of the <br />project is now complete to the satisfaction of the Director of Engineering. It is <br />recommended City Council accept the project as complete. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Accept the project as complete and authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of <br />Completion. <br />2. Authorize release of the retention in the amount of $43,974.66 to JJR Construction, <br />Inc. 30 days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br />3. Authorize the return of the project's balance of $28,608 to the Streets CIP fund <br />balance. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Funding for this project totaled $910,500 as outlined in Attachment 1. The expenditures <br />total $881,892, leaving a balance of $28,608. Staff recommends the remaining amount <br />be returned to the Streets CIP fund balance. <br />
