CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br /> May 18, 2021 <br /> This meeting was conducted in accordance with Governor Newsom's <br /> Executive Orders N-25-20 COVID-19 pandemic protocols. <br /> Mayor Brown called the teleconferenced regular meeting of the City Council from various remote <br /> locations to order at the hour of 7:04 p.m. Councilmember Testa led the Pledge of Allegiance and <br /> provided opening remarks. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Arkin, Balch, Narum, Testa, Mayor Brown <br /> Absent: None <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> City Manager Nelson Fialho pulled Item 5 from the agenda. <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Councilmember Balch noted on page 13 of Item 3 his affirmative support of reevaluating Drug Abuse <br /> Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) and School Resource Officers (SRO) was missed and requested its <br /> addition. <br /> Councilmember Balch requested fellow Councilmembers consider workforce housing when the <br /> Housing Element is discussed noting it has his support. <br /> Councilmember Narum also called to ensure workforce housing is included as part of the Housing <br /> Element. <br /> Mayor Brown reported on page two of Item 3 a paragraph about Bernal Community Farm requiring a <br /> Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Master Gardeners for use of the site was added after <br /> discussion by the Council. She advised they cannot do cover crops and other projects until the City <br /> establishes an MOU and this note had not been added. She requested any motion include this addition. <br /> City Manager <br /> 1. Approved meeting minutes of April 29, 2021 <br /> 2. Approved and authorized City Manager to execute Memorandum of Understanding with the <br /> Alameda County Sheriffs Office for the Operation of the East County Animal Shelter <br /> 3. Item removed — Adopt resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute right of way contracts and <br /> grant temporary construction easements to the Alameda County Transportation Commission for <br /> the 1-680 Southbound Express Lanes between State Route 84 and Alcosta Boulevard Project <br />
