9 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> NwA "" �; rir CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> May 18, 2021 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A ROTARY MOWER FOR <br /> OPERATIONS SERVICES FROM TURF STAR WESTERN IN THE <br /> AMOUNT OF $111,112.14 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Operations Services Department Parks Division is responsible for maintaining and <br /> mowing City sports fields,community and neighborhood parks. One of the division's <br /> larger pieces of equipment is Unit 820, a 2007 Jacobsen rotary mower with 4,838 hours <br /> of use and recently experienced a catastrophic hydraulic failure resulting in the need to <br /> replace the mower. To date, $60,701.96 has been spent on maintenance on Unit 820 <br /> and the useful life fora rotary mower is 4,000 hours. Staff is recommending <br /> replacement of the rotary mower with the same brand as the existing mowers which will <br /> streamline maintenance parts inventory and repairs. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the purchase of a rotary mower for the Operations Services Department and <br /> authorize the City Manager to execute a Purchase Order with Turf Star Western in the <br /> amount of $111 ,112.14. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> This purchase would be funded by the Equipment Replacement Fund (514)in FY <br /> 2020/21. <br />
