THE CITY OF <br />P <br />• —.. oo� : Im f 1 i l l <br />PLEASAx-NTON, <br />CIVIC Arts <br />Commission <br />Minutes <br />City Council Chamber — 200 Old Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton, CA <br />August 5, 2019 — 7:00 p.m. <br />CALL TO ORDER /.PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Chairperson Pellegrino called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance <br />to the flag was recited. <br />Roll Call <br />Commissioners Present: John Casey, Jeanne Farley -Rodgers, Sandra Jellison, Varsha <br />Nene, Isabelle Morales, Stephanie Wedge-Bonde, Judy Wheeler, <br />and Chairperson Stephanie Pellegrino. <br />Commissioners Absent:. Huiling Song <br />Staff Present: Tamara Whitney, Recreation Manager; and Edith Caponigro, <br />Recording Secretary. <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />None. <br />MINUTES <br />1. Approve regular meeting minutes of June 3, 2019 <br />A motion made by Commissioner Wheeler. seconded by Commissioner Jellison, to approve <br />the minutes from the June 3, 2019 meeting. The motion was approved unanimously. <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />2. Introductions/Awards/Recognitions/Presentations <br />Ms. Whitney recognized Sandra Chen the outgoing Teen Poet Laureate for her service and all . <br />the good work she had done during her term. Ms. Chen provided information on how the <br />position of Teen Poet Laureate for the City of Pleasanton had allowed her to connect with <br />other people, especially students and had given her the opportunity to form a creative writing - <br />club. <br />Civic Arts Commission Minutes <br />August 5, 2019 <br />Page 1 <br />
